I’m Right, Right?
May 25th, 2008 . by adminA friend of mine and I were having a "discussion" (aka argument) about which made better buys: acrylic paintings or watercolor paintings for sale. She said acrylic work because it was more vibrant but also because the materials were more expensive so the artist was more invested in the piece. I said watercolor because even though water colors are cheap they take great skill and talent to make a truly saleable piece. Otherwise it looks like a kindergarten exercise. Not that theirs anything wrong about that. But art isn’t just about the final piece, it’s about respecting the artist time and skill and how it makes its way into the final piece. Can anyone settle this for me?
