I was just checking CNN today and one of the top stories was how oil had hit $147/barrel – that’s a whole heck of a lot of money for a barrel of oil.  I remember back when I was in high school nobody knew what the cost of a barrel of oil was – it was cheap.  I actually looked it up because I was curious – and it was about $35/barrel.  Needless to say, gas a whole heck of a lot cheaper back then.  Alas, the days of cheap gas and gas guzzling SUVs seem to be behind us.  Now it’s time to usher in a new era of gasoline rebate programs, hybrids, fuel sipping economy cars, and electric vehicles.
