It seems like every time that you turn on the TV or open a newspaper you are faced with another story that is related to the troubled economy.  People are losing their jobs at an alarming rate.  Foreclosure rates are skyrocketing and people are getting discouraged.  However, you also find stories that are encouraging as well.  People are refusing to give up and are finding ways to weather this storm.  Hope business are being started and people are learning to take care of themselves, without having a boss to answer to.  People are really much stronger than they give themselves credit for, and it is during hard times that their strength is revealed.
