I am an avid music lover. I grew up around various different kinds of music my whole life. Depending on my mood and on whom I am dating depends on what kind of music I listen to. One of my favorite music hit was and still is Sweet Home Alabama. I love that song, I can listen to it over and over again for hours. I love anything by the original artist of that son. No matter how old I live to be, that will always be my favorite song. It’s like my signature song, everyone knows I am coming when they hear that song.

The violin octet is a family of stringed instruments developed in the 20th century primarily under the direction of the American luthier Carleen Hutchins. Each instrument is based directly on the traditional violin and shares its acoustical properties, with the goal of a richer and more homogeneous sound. Unlike the standard modern stringed instruments, the main resonance of the body of the violin octet instrument is at a pitch near the two middle open strings, giving the instruments a more balanced, clearer sound. The instruments were proposed by composer Henry Brant in 1957 and the first octet was completed in 1967. Currently, there are two performing groups which play and record on the instruments of the violin octet. The Hutchins Consort (based in San Diego, California) plays on Carleen Hutchin’s instruments, and the Albert Consort (based in Ithaca, New York) uses a set of instruments made by Robert Spear.

When my father passed away the week before Easter it was a terrible time for my kids. They were so close to “pappy” it was so painful to see their first experience with death. My dad lived in Houston and made me the executor of his estate. When my other brothers found out they were very angry that they were not trusted enough to be named the executor of the estate. But that was not my fault. They started to give me a hard time about the whole subject that is when I went to a Texas probate attorney who had experience with trust and probate matters. He helped me a lot I am glad I found a Texas probate attorney.

I just found out that Bradley Hathaway is playing in town tonight. It ought to be awesome. He’s going to have his full band with him this time.
The coffee shop usually has free music, but I think they’re charging 3 bucks for this. Not bad considering he’s got a new album coming out and is doing regional tours now. We’re really pretty lucky that we could get him to our little town.
Not sure if Karen will want to go up and listen or not, but I think I’ll go either way. I’ve heard him do his poetry gigs, but haven’t ever heard him with the band.
