How Intermittent fasting works

The thought of fasting makes some people break out in a rash, but did you know that many people have used intermittent fasting, combined with normal but sensible eating on non-fasting days, to lose excess weight and keep it off?  It does not mean a person starves themselves into starvation mode but instead means using short fasting periods once or twice a week combined with normal eating on the other days.  It means a person can lose excess weight for good without having to eat weird and often tasteless diet foods, take diet pills, or drink meal replacement shakes that I would never think of as a replacement for a meal in an effort to lose those stubborn pounds.
