A lot of kids my age are embarrassed to admit and even try to go to fat camps. The reason, I suppose, is that they’re still in denial of their weight and going to a fat camp is like pleading guilty to a heinous crime. If there is one thing I’m thankful for in this world, it is to the person/s who invented the fat camp. I enrolled into fat camp summer of 2005 because my weight worries me. I also noticed the change in my self image, I was withdrawing from social occasions due to my insecurities. My time at the fat camp for kids gave me a huge realization on the importance of eating right and brought my self esteem back. The staff was very helpful and encouraging without being dictators. Fat camps are a lot of fun too!
