New Weight Loss Supplements in the News

December 26th, 2008 . by admin

Is it difficult for you to eliminate or reduce foods like breads, potato chips, cookies, and pastas from your diet? Well, you’re certainly not alone by a long shot! Obesity is a serious problem facing many people today, and one of the most difficult to overcome. Most times you need assistance, and new “carb blockers” and acai berrys are two new supplement that are a purported wonder of science that is a natural, effective aid in weight loss.

Carb blockers work, in theory, by inhibiting the production of a starch-enzyme, namely the starch-digesting enzyme alpha-amylase. With less of this enzyme in production, the body is less able to break down carbohydrates into sugar, which would usually then be absorbed into the body, which in general converts the excess sugar into fat. The primary ingredient in these supplements is Phaseolus Vulgaris, derived from white kidney beans.  It should be noted that more studies are needed to confirm how effective carb blockers really are.  Now that carb blockers have been on the market for more than a decade we should have some solid findings on the effectiveness available soon.

Acai berrys are a fruit that grow in the Amazon rainforest.  Acai benefits come from its rich source of antioxidants, a purported 10 more than that of red grapes. They are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fats, amino acids, vitamins and plant sterols which help with digestive and hear function.  Acai berrys are becoming known as a superfood.  Unless you live near the Amazon, you cannot buy acai berries, but there are many supplement products that contain acai berries that can be found locally or ordered online.

These supplements may assist in losing weight, but you must have a reasonable diet, as the pills are not miracles in themselves.
