PSA Results Are Not Always A Good Indication Of Fatal Prostate Cancer
August 31st, 2008 . by adminThe PSA blood test has been used for a long time to indicate the possible presence of prostate cancer. However, it is now being suggested that it might not be very useful when it comes to predicting fatal cases of prostate cancer and is used together with a treatment of watchful waiting. This suggestion comes from a Swedish study however which was conducted using a very small sample size and many are criticizing the study for drawing its conclusions from data which simply does not support that conclusion. At present, because psa results have been used with considerable success for some time now, it is probably too soon to pay attention to one small and seemingly flawed study.
