When treating viral warts, one must think about getting rid of the virus instead of just cutting the wart off.  Changing the environment of the skin where the wart is can also remove the wart. A paste made up of crushed vitamin c can accomplish this as Vitamin c is highly acidic whereas your skin has a neutral pH. Castor oil will also change the environment and keep the skin most so that the wart cannot make the skin rough. Moist skin will break up quickly and the virus will have no stationary skin to live in.

Other medical treatments include applying high frequency electric current, having the wart cut off and apply blister beetle juice. All of these treatments are extremely painful and may require anesthesia. They also have a potential for scarring.
