There are several different types of warts because there are many different types of HPV strains. Certain strains will cause certain types of warts. Warts tend to be associated with specific areas of the body as filliform warts are found around the eyes and lips and plantars warts on the soles of your feet.Another type of wart, molluscum warts, might be mistaken for a rash or other kind of skin eruption because they are smaller, not as bumpy and reddish in color.  They can also be itchy, thus the reason some people think they are a rash.
