Declutter My House, Tackle My Medicine Cabinet
June 29th, 2009 . by adminAs a professional organizer and former medical assistant, I believe that staying on top of what’s in the medicine cabinet is an important task to help declutter my house and keep my family safe. I actually don’t even use the bathroom medicine cabinet at all because of temperature fluctuations from showers and because I want to keep medications up high, out of the reach of children. So, I store my medications in a clear, plastic bin at the top of my linen closet. Follow these tips to declutter your house and tackle your stored medications.
• Look at all the expiration dates and get rid of all expired medications.• Part with all partially used bottles of antibiotics.• Part with old prescriptions you don’t use anymore.• Find a local pharmacy that will dispose of medications for you, do not flush them down the toilet, keep the water supply safe.
It’s worth the money to pay for a new prescription, don’t take any chances with your health using old or expired medications!
