Myths about dog training

December 29th, 2008 . by admin

Many people have the false ideal that dog training with limited experience around K-9s is extremely challenging. While this is not always accurate, there are some basics that novice trainers should keep in mind. For example, the trainer must always be of the mindset that he or she is charge rather than the dog. Trainers must portray themselves as the clear leader, not allowing the dog to infer that it can take charge. In addition, trainers should remember the importance of voice tone in training dogs. Trainers should use an assertive tone that is firm to let the dog know who the master is.
