Bark collars serve as an excellent means to control any undesired barking behavior of your dog.  Several types are commercially available: ultrasonic, sonic, spray, and electric Bark Collar.  Some are triggered by the vibration of a dog’s bark while other work through a microphone.  Sophisticated models combine both, helping to eliminate false activation.  Ultrasonic collars emit a sound irritant to the dog but above the human range of hearing.  Small dogs tend to work well with this type of collar.  The sonic collar, on the other hand, emits a high pitched noise designed to startle the dog.  Spray bark collars release citronella-, lemon-, or water-based sprays into the airs as a deterrent.  The electronic collar delivers a shock to the dog.  Choose the type of collar that works best for your dog and its limitations.
