Men Had a Better Deal When It Came to Victorian Fashions
January 30th, 2009 . by adminWhen it comes to Victorian fashions, the men had it made. While Victorian women had to dress to the nines at all times, a man could walk around on his property in just his pants and boots. Granted, on more formal occasions or even if shopping in town, the men had to be pretty formal too. But even on the fanciest occasion, the men didn’t have to wear nearly half the trappings that women did. Yes, they had to wear hats and vests under their jackets, which must have been hot in the summer. But at least no one insisted on them wearing a girdle!
