Be a comparison reader

Different translators may stress different ideas in their work resulting in translation differences. Understanding bible translation differences can be a difficult but enlightening undertaking. Do not limit yourself to one version of the Bible. Study Bibles will often have three of more versions printed next to each other in the columns running across the page. This makes it a simple matter to compare the texts. You may not understand the “why” of the differences but you will gain a greater understanding as to their existence. Try comparing a formal equivalence translation with that of one or more dynamic equivalence translations.
